Quercus IV Mongolica takes us to Mongolia, naturally, and the Quercus mongolica tree, closely related to Japanese mizunara. With a denser grain than mizunara, the folks at High Coast found Mongolian oak easier to work with while still delivering complex, aromatic notes to the whisky.
