Year in year out this is one of the great bargains of the wine world. Yves Cuilleron makes some quite pricey wines in St. Joseph and Condrieu but this is the entry level wine. It’s made from 100% syrah and has some of the elegance and fragrance that you might find in more pricey wines made nearby. And there’s only 12% alcohol so this is a great lunchtime wine especially if you serve it very lightly chilled. Light body with fresh raspberries, violets, and a little black pepper.
