The 2018 Blanc de Blancs La Bolorée is shockingly open in its first impression. That’s deceptive though, as the Bolorée just gets better with considerable aeration, as is quite typical for this wine. Rich and powerful in feel, the Bolorée offers up a palate-staining concoction of white fruit, mint, ginger, apricot and minerals. Soaring, high-toned aromatics reminiscent of eau de vie suggest a touch of volatile acidity, but if it its there, it integrates over time. Once again, La Bolorée is a magical wine.
